Our final excerpt is actually a poem — commissioned specifically to act as a prologue to our anthology: WORLD ENOUGH AND CRIME. (Carrick Publishing, Fall, 2014)Michael C. Slater is a poet. His earlier work appeared in our 2012 anthology: STARSHIP GOODWORDS, and we were anxious to have him back. However, since our 2014 book is a Crime anthology, not a book of poems, this presented a problem for us.
Michael, however, was more than able to satisfy our strange request for a “crime-themed” poem.
And now, with our sincere thanks to Michael, here is a snippet from his poem Crime…Noun.
